Camosun expresses its sorrow and stands alongside the Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc

Camosun College is horrified by the news that the remains of 215 children have been found in the grounds of the former Kamloops Residential School, which sat on the traditional territory of the Tk’emlúps te Secwepemc. Our hearts go out to the families and communities who were and are directly affected by this news and by the original loss of their children. We are all affected. This affirms Camosun’s commitment to redressing the impact of our shared history. In memory of these children, Camosun flags on both campuses will be lowered.

Sarah has been teaching at Camosun College in the Medical Radiography Technology Program since 2013. She came to us from Toronto where she worked as an MRT and Clinical Education Leader. She has been a member of CAMRT since 2006 and participated in the CAMRT Leadership Development Institute in 2014.Having completed her B.Sc in Life Sciences at Queen's University, she went on to the Eastern Ontario School of X-ray Technology in Kingston, Ontario where she graduated in 2007. She is now working towards her MSc in Health Science Education from McMaster University. Outside of work Sarah is part of the Greater Victoria Concert Band and is part of a recreational dragon boat team. She believes in maintaining a work-life balance, being a lifelong learner, strengthening her professional network and is always open to finding new opportunities.
