Brenda is an interdisciplinary artist working in drawing, photography and performance; she explores identity and memory in subjective, social and political environments. Recent exhibitions include Chalk 'n Talk, Victoria BC, Graphite Covers, Williams Lake BC and Word Boxing, Victoria BC; recent artist residences at Nelimarkka, Finland and Alert Bay, Canada. She believes that essential to being an effective teacher is having an active practice – it is through continued development of her work that she is able to offer her students a rich environment to encourage exploration and support them as they build their own creative communities.
