International Connections

International and domestic students have many opportunities to connect with the Camosun and Victoria communities. Choose your area of interest and help create a more diverse, inclusive, and safe community for all students. No experience required.

Overview - Training

Training will be offered to all students participating in Connections. It is mandatory to complete the Healthy Boundaries and Responsible Leadership training. Additional training varies by program. Examples of training sessions include:

  • Project Management
  • Networking Skills
  • Social Media Skills
  • Mental Health Support

Dates and locations for training coming soon.

You will be invited to attend the Annual Recognition Ceremony in April to celebrate your contributions.

Orientation Mentors and Leaders

International Orientation Week is an event where all Camosun students come together to welcome new international students.

Orientation Mentors

  • Provide event support for staff before, during, and after orientation week
  • Train, schedule, and coordinate orientation leaders
  • Organize and host off-campus excursions and ice breakers
  • Develop and lead Group Sessions
  • Introduce sessions and speakers as scheduled

Peer Connections

A program for students dedicated to helping students. You will support current and new students with the cultural, academic, and personal aspects of their studies at Camosun.

  • Minimum hours per semester: 30 hours
  • Intake: September, January, May
  • Meetings: Weekly. Mondays from 5:30-7pm, Lansdowne Campus

Peer Connections students who successfully complete the program will receive a transcript notation to recognize their involvement and leadership contributions.

Become a student ambassador

At Camosun International, we know that each student has a unique experience to share and we want to hear yours. We’re looking for Student Ambassadors to represent international students on campus and online! Applications are always open.

Help introduce Camosun to the world

As a member of the Student Ambassador Team, you will have the opportunity to build your resume and develop leadership and cross-cultural communication skills by:

  • Sharing social media content
  • Leading campus tours
  • Participating in student panels
  • Helping with various events on campus

We are looking for current Camosun students who are:

  • Flexible in schedule and workflow
  • Familiar with campus life
  • Active on at least one social media platform
  • Comfortable speaking with new people and in front of groups from different cultures
