Greg Atkins was appointed to the Board of Governors on July 31, 2022. He joined the Board Finance committee that year. Greg is a Principal and Director with Reed Pope Law Corp. and is a solicitor practicing primarily in the areas of real estate development and commercial transactions. Greg grew up on a family farm in Manitoba and earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba in 2005. He spent several years working in the front offices of the Edmonton Oilers and Manitoba Moose hockey clubs prior to attending the University of Alberta Law School in 2010. Starting in 2013, he articled with a prominent Alberta firm where he gained experience in business law and real estate. In 2010, Greg also started his own business offering player development services to several NHL hockey teams.

In 2016, Greg and his wife Jessie moved with their young children to Victoria to be closer to family and take advantage of the Island lifestyle. Since moving to Victoria, Greg has established a busy legal practice, working with local developers and businesspeople on various matters.

Greg has an extensive history of volunteer involvement and is currently a Director of the Pacific Montessori Society and a coach of his kids’ baseball and hockey teams. In his free time, Greg enjoys fishing, golfing and spending time with his three young children.
