Worried about over indulging during the holidays? Me too! I’m very good at going to every holiday party and nibbling from every snack table! I think to myself, oh I’ll just a few chips and a cookie and that will be fine! But… then I do that about five times! By the end of the holiday season I won’t say that I’ve really gained weight, but things have redistributed around the mid-section!

Story time for everyone reading! When I first started here, I was living under the assumption that fresh is always better than frozen – and that also contributes to why they can be more expensive! But having spoken to the coordinator Meghan, she told me about a study where they found that frozen veggies are just as nutrient packed as their fresh friends, or sometimes even better!

We've all heard of “magic” weight loss remedies before. Playing around with “diets” is common and its even more common to fall off track with them because half way through what you thought was claimed to work, you hear of something else claiming completely different! It’s hard enough already fitting everything in your diet that one needs as far as real nutrition goes. So, that being said, what do we really need to be healthy, active humans? And what do our bodies need to function? Enter "macronutrients"!

When you are so busy with assignments, class, bus schedules, parking prices, rent, your phone bill, printing paper, WHO HAS TIME FOR HEALTHY EATING?! If it’s easy and in front of me I WILL put it in my body. HELLO CARBS. MY NAME IS TARYN. :) All that being said, even though eating, especially eating can be low on your list of priorities, it honestly is really important. Healthy and nutritious foods can give you not only more physical energy, but also mental energy. So let’s get started.
