Camosun Chargers golf team looks to home course advantage to light up the leaderboard
Release date: September 28, 2017
The Camosun Chargers men’s golf team is preparing for a big weekend of competition as the college hosts the third of four PACWEST tournaments this weekend at the Chargers home course at Highland Pacific.
Currently sitting fourth in the conference team standings, the Chargers hope to use their home course advantage to launch their way up the leaderboard.
“It was another tough week for us,” commented Camosun Chargers Golf Head Coach John Randle. “We continued to struggle with mental errors, causing slight misses leading to big scores. We will continue to work on cleaning up those errors and I am confident we will play better this coming weekend!”
Following two tournaments, the UBC-Okanagan Heat and University of the Fraser Valley Cascades are tied for first place with a cumulative team total of 1160. The VIU Mariners are third with 1167. In fourth spot is Camosun with 1216 while Langara and Douglas are fifth and sixth respectively with scores of 1228 and 1274.
The two-day Camosun Invitational Golf tournament kicks off Saturday, September 30 at Highland Pacific.
Coach Randle states, “It will be great to welcome the conference into our rink and see if we can make up some ground on the top three!”
