Chargers begin battle for national supremacy
Catch the Chargers (seeded #4) take on hosts and defending National Champions, the Sainte-Foy Dynamiques (#5) at 3pm (PST) today at the 2008-09 Canadian Colleges’ Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Championships in Sainte-Foy, Quebec.
The country’s top eight teams are seeded and scheduled in today’s quarter-final action as follows:
- Game 1 @ 10am PST: Lethbridge College Kodiaks, AB (#1) vs. Seneca College Sting, ON (#8)
- Game 2 @ noon PST: Dawson College Blues, QC (#3) vs. MacEwan College Griffins, AB (#6)
- Game 3 @ 3pm PST: Camosun College Chargers, BC (#4) vs. Sainte-Foy Dynamiques, QC (#5)
- Game 4 @ 5pm PST: Sheridan College Bruins, ON (#2) vs. St. Thomas University Tommies, NB (#7)
This will be the Chargers’ first appearance at the CCAA Nationals since the program’s inception in 1993-94.
At last night’s Championship Banquet, second-year Charger Carmen Lapthorne was named a CCAA All-Canadian for her outstanding athletic performance over the 2008-09 season.
