Chargers finish fifth in field at Nationals

The Camosun College Chargers golf team finished fifth today as the final day of competition closed at the 2009 PING CCAA National Championships in Windsor, Ontario.
Humber College came out as the winner, earning its’ seventh CCAA National Men’s Golf title. St. Lawrence takes home a silver medal and bronze went to Mount Royal College (Calgary, AB).
The top six teams finished with three-day totals as follows:
- Humber—885
- St. Lawrence—892
- Mount Royal—897
- Niagara—898
- Camosun—902
- UBC-O—903
“It was another long day,” said Chargers head coach John Randle. “Cold and windy were again the theme. The guys fought hard but lost ground to the field.”
Three Chargers made the Top 25 in Individual Stroke Play:

“I’m proud of the guys for fighting hard and giving it their all,” commented Chargers head coach John Randle. “If a few more putts had dropped and a few errant shots could be replayed, we would have been a serious contender. All in all, a great tournament and another step forward for our program.”
