School of Trades and Technology

Graduating at the top of her class from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Professional Cooking and becoming a Red Seal Chef, Sherry has combined her previous business management experience to carve out a distinctive career in the culinary profession. Sherry has expert level experience working with industry business owners and corporate partners in food production, kitchen management, menu testing and developing and delivering specialized culinary-client experiences for c-suite executives.

As a Rational Certified Chef, Sherry has traveled extensively in western Canada training emerging culinary technologies to chefs and cooks working in small family-owned businesses, franchised restaurants, hotels, guest ranches (agritourism), urban, rural and remote community and commercial production facilities, and Hutterite community kitchens.

Sherry is known for her ability to think of novel and productive ways to conceptualize and do things. She supports her students in mastering culinary knowledge and techniques by encouraging them to embrace curiosity, exploration, and discovery in learning about the culinary arts and their contribution to it.

Sherry's own love of learning is at the forefront of her teaching practice and she has successfully achieved her Provincial Instructor’s Diploma and Trades Instructor Certificate.
