Requests for Transfer Credit and/or Transcript Evaluation
Many students come to Camosun College having already completed some courses at other colleges or universities. Often that coursework can be evaluated for credit towards a Camosun College credential. It’s an easy process involving a form, a fee, and sealed, official transcripts.
Step 1
To have your official post-secondary transcripts evaluated to determine academic course equivalency towards Camosun College programs, please download and complete the request form. Make sure to fill out every part of the form.
Step 2
Get a sealed, official version of your transcript from the other post-secondary institution you attended. You can either have the institution send the transcript directly to us, or bring it in yourself (just make sure that you haven’t opened the envelope or broken the seal). Sometimes it may be necessary to submit official course outlines. Official transcripts from institutions outside of Canada for sure must be accompanied by official course outlines (if in languages other than English, you must include official translations to English).
Step 3
Pay the transcript evaluation fee (per transcript being evaluated). Transcript evaluation fees are non-refundable.
- $50 per transcript within BC
- $80 per transcript outside of BC but within Canada
- $100 per transcript outside of Canada
These fees apply to domestic students only at this time.
The form, completed in full, can be provided to Camosun College in a number of ways.
Mail, fax or email the completed form to:
Camosun College Lansdowne CampusAttn: Transfer Credit Coordinator

- Fax: 250–370–3551
- transfercredit@camosun.bc.ca
Bring the completed form in-person to:
Lansdowne Campus
Dawson Building, Main Floor
Interurban Campus
Campus Centre Building, 2nd Floor
Be sure to have your official transcripts accompany or follow your form submission by sending them to the mailing address above or bring them in-person to either of the locations listed above.
Timelines and deadlines
It generally takes 8-10 weeks to process general transcript evaluations. Particularly complex credit assessments (for example, that require consultation with faculty, other institutions, etc.) may take considerably longer. Because of this, it’s important that all documentation related to the evaluation of credit be submitted well in advance of the start of whatever program you want to take at Camosun.
- For a September start, submit everything prior to June 1
- For a January start, submit everything prior to October 15
- For a May start, submit everything prior to February 15
Any transfer credit requests that are submitted after these deadlines may or may not be processed in advance of fee deadline dates (and as such would be subject to our our withdraw and refund policies for their respective terms).
Re-evaluation of transcripts previously submitted
If you change your program pathway and would like your transcript re-evaluated towards a new program choice, the same transcripts will be re-evaluated with no additional fee. Active/inactive status timelines will apply. Fill out a Transfer Credit Re-evaluation form.
