The College recognizes the considerable effort on the part of students to establish and meet their educational goals. To enhance students’ opportunity for success in meeting their educational goals, the College expects members of the College community to act toward each other in a manner that contributes to a positive, supportive and safe learning environment.
Anyone in the campus community observing an incident of: behavior threatening to others, property damage, disruption to campus activities, or other violations of the law, should contact Campus Safety.
As a member of the Camosun College community, faculty/instructors and staff are often one of the first individuals to notice a student exhibiting concerning, distressing or threatening behaviours. A student does not need to be violating any Camosun rules or regulations for you to be concerned.
Student Affairs, within the VP Student Experience portfolio produces an annual Supporting Students in Distress guide and is able to provide resources and training. For additional information contact the Office of Student Support.
Camosun College students are required to comply with the standards of academic dishonesty set out in the Student Conduct Policy (E-2.5).
It is the responsibility of Camosun College faculty/instructors and staff to take reasonable steps to prevent and to detect acts of academic dishonesty. It is a faculty/instructor's responsibility to confront a student when such an act is suspected and to take appropriate action if academic dishonesty, in the opinion of the instructor, has occurred. The goal of this process is to ensure that the student learns from the experience, so that he or she can continue without further offences during his or her tenure at Camosun.
