Ways to borrow

Books, DVDs, magazines & journals

In-person – Visit the library to browse and borrow from the collection. Present your Camosun ID to borrow materials. 

Holds – arrange to have books, DVDs, magazines and journals ready for pick-up at either Lansdowne or Interurban Library by placing a hold on the item through your library account.

Online access – many journals and books are available digitally.

Laptops

In-person - borrow a laptop for 4 hours. Visit the Library Services Desk and present your Camosun ID.

Semester loan –  to  request a laptop for the Spring 2024 semester. Fill out this form

Course reserves & kits

In-person – at Lansdowne Library, visit the reserves room to locate the course reserve or kit and present your student ID to borrow. At Interurban Library, visit the services desk, request the course reserve or kit and present your student ID to borrow.

Borrowing information

Interlibrary loan

The library will request books and journal articles not available in Camosun Library's print or online collection from other libraries. There is a limit of 10 requests per student each semester. This service is available to registered students, faculty and staff. Loan periods, limits and fines are determined by the lending library.

Borrowing from other libraries

Camosun students and faculty are entitled to a reciprocal service at other BC college and university libraries, upon presentation of a valid Camosun ID. Additional identification may be required for borrowing. Contact the participating library to find out about their borrowing policies.

Appeals

If you think the library has made an error or if you have a special situation that made it difficult for you to return or renew materials, you may submit an appeal.

If you are not satisfied with the decision of the committee, restate your case and email to lsdirector@camosun.ca
