Princess Auto Foundation Entrance Bursaries

The Princess Auto Foundation (PAF) is committed to enhancing education and providing opportunities to students in the areas of trades & technology, and believes strongly in providing funding to students who may not otherwise be able to attend college due to their financial circumstances. The PAF is pleased to support eligible Camosun students through the provision of a maximum of five $5,000 bursaries, 2 for technology students and 3 for trades students. Annual availability of this award may vary, depending on funds received from the donor.

  • Program of Study: Trades Foundation programs (Professional Cook and apprentice students are not eligible)

Applications will be accepted from August 1, 2017 to August 1, 2018.

Eligibility Criteria

All applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Must be accepted at Camosun College into a Trades Foundation program (Professional Cook and apprentice students are not eligible).
  2. Your program must begin between August 21, 2017 and August 31, 2018.
  3. Be able to demonstrate exceptional financial need.
  4. Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Application Process

Complete the online application form and include a one-page letter of intention. Your letter of intention should:

  • Describe why you are interested in your program and what your future career goals are.
  • Outline your past work and educational experiences.
  • Speak to any past or current extraordinary personal or financial barriers or challenges.

Additional Information

  • Submit your online application to Financial Aid & Awards no later than six weeks before your program end date. Late applications will not be accepted. As this is an Entrance Bursary, it is in your best interest to apply prior to the start of your program or as early in your program as possible.
  • Applications will be accepted from August 1, 2017 until August 1, 2018 at the latest. Applications will be assessed as they are received and bursaries may be awarded at any point during the application period. Once recipients have been selected, the application will be considered closed and no further funding will be available for the remainder of the program year.
  • Adjudication of this bursary will be managed by Financial Aid & Awards. All decisions are final.
  • Students will not normally receive more than one entrance bursary.
  • Entrance bursaries cannot be deferred to a future semester or year.
  • Successful applicants will be notified by email within 6 weeks of applying.
  • Funds will be applied directly to the student account. If tuition and fees have already been paid, any residual bursary amounts will be refunded to the student.
  • Students receiving Persons with Disabilities or Income Assistance should speak with Financial Aid & Awards and their Ministry case worker to discuss how bursary funds may impact their government assistance.
  • Bursary funds are considered income. A statement for income tax purposes will be sent to recipients by Camosun.
  • Bursary recipients are encouraged to write a thank you letter to the donor; thank you letters can be submitted to Financial Aid & Awards at either campus.

  • Program of Study: Technology Certificate or Diploma programs offered by the School of Trades & Technology. (Students enrolled in Engineering Transfer, Access and Bridge programs are not eligible)
  • Number of Awards: Maximum of 2

Princess Auto Foundation Technology Entrance Bursary applications are now closed for 2017.
