What does it mean to be a full-time student for the purposes of financial aid?
You're full-time if you are registered in an eligible program with a minimum of 60% of a full course load (40% if you are designated as a student with a permanent disability). The credit value required to meet the full-time threshold varies by program. If you are unsure about the required credit load, or if you want to ensure your program is eligible for funding, please contact Financial Aid & Awards.
What will I be assessed for when I apply?
One application will ensure that you are assessed for all government funds for which you are eligible. They may include:
- Federal and provincial integrated student loan
- Canada Student Grant for Students from Low Income Families
- Canada Student Grant for Students from Middle Income Families
- Canada Student Grant for Students with Dependents
- Canada Student Grant for Students with Permanent Disabilities
- BC Supplemental Bursary for Students with Permanent Disabilities
- BC Access Grant for Students with Permanent Disabilities
- BC Access Grant for Labour Market Priorities
Do I have to repay all of it?
No. You must pay back the loan portion of your funding, with interest. Grant and bursary funds do not need to be repaid. Once your application has been assessed, you will receive a notification that tells you how much money and what type of money you will receive.
How do I apply?
