College costs money. We can help.
You may need to find more than one source of funding to help pay for your education and living costs while attending college. Do you have money saved? Can your parents or other relatives help? Can you work part-time and still maintain your grades? Check out sources of money you don't need to pay back as well as those that need to be repaid.
Important Message from the Registrar on Withdrawals & Incompletes during COVID-19 +
To all current students,
We recognize that this time of uncertainty can cause concern and anxiety for most. As you know, your Camosun College instructors and staff have been working hard on alternative delivery methods to help you successfully finish your semester. Having done so, the expectation is that you will complete the requirements of your course(s) through these alternative delivery methods (including any participation and online group work requirements).
Having said that, we also acknowledge that some of you may find yourselves in extraordinary circumstances that make it impossible for you to participate and complete your coursework. We want to ensure you’re making the most informed decisions about your enrolment, so we strongly encourage you to engage with your instructor(s) to discuss options and ensure you’re making the right choice. You may be farther along than you think, or the instructor may have other suggestions on how you can complete.
Should you find yourself in a situation beyond your control, we are making the following adjustments to support you:
If you’ve discussed with your instructor(s) and there are no reasonable options available for you to complete, we have extended the deadline to withdraw from courses without academic penalty to the last day of instruction for the Winter semester. For the majority of courses, this is April 9; non-standard course dates will vary. There are no refunds associated with withdrawing; but you will not be penalized academically with a failing grade. To request a withdrawal email firstname.lastname@example.org from the email account listed on your student record (in Camlink), and include your student ID#, the course(s) you are looking to withdraw from, and the reason for the withdrawal.
Incomplete (‘I’) Grades
Depending on your situation, your instructor(s) may offer to assign you a temporary grade of ‘I’ (Incomplete). Normally, coursework for Incomplete grades must be finished within six weeks of the end of the term, otherwise the ‘I’ grade automatically changes to an ‘F’. However, we have suspended the six-week requirement and the deadline for incomplete coursework for the Winter term will be announced at a later date. It is generally in everyone’s best interest to have the coursework completed as soon as possible, and only reasonable extensions beyond the standard six weeks will be allowed. All incomplete grades require an Incomplete Grade Report form be completed and signed by both you and the instructor.
I appreciate that the adjustments over the past couple of weeks have been challenging, and I am so proud of our college community for the ongoing cooperation, flexibility, and understanding. Our focus remains on the health and safety of our most vulnerable, our community and ensuring that you - our students, succeed. We will get through this together.

Money you'll need to repay
Many students choose to take out loans to finance some or all of their educational costs. Remember, you will have to pay this money back once you are done school, usually with interest.
Money you don't need to repay
If you can, take advantage of educational funding that you won't need to repay later – based on financial need, community involvement or academic achievement.
Other sources of funding
Different sources of funding are available to students who fit particular criteria. Access to funding may depend on the types of courses you are taking and other personal circumstances.
