Student computer accounts
Currently there are several student account systems. While all these accounts use your Camosun ID, they are separate accounts. Changing the password on one of the accounts does not change it on the others.
You will be responsible for all actions taken from within any of your accounts. Therefore, you should not allow anyone else to use them.
Your Camosun ID
Your Camosun ID is make up of an uppercase C and seven numbers and is printed on your student card. Example: C0012345. Your Camosun ID is used to log in to most services at Camosun.
Student computer account
Use this account to log on to lab computers, myCamosun and your Camosun email account.
- Default password: your date of birth in the form mmddyy.
- You will be prompted to change your password first time you log on.
- If you forget your password, the Instructional Technologists can reset it for you.
By using the account each student is agreeing to abide by the Student Conduct Rules and the Computer Ethics Guidelines.
Camlink
Use this account to register for courses and checking your grades or financial status. Camlink
- Default password: your date of birth in the form mmddyy.
- You will be prompted to change your password the first time you log on.
Online courses
This was formerly called the WebCT or Distributed Education Account and is used if you are taking a course with an online component. Username and password information is available on the Online Courses page.
Library account
- Default password: your date of birth in the form mmddyy.
Other computer accounts
Other department at Camosun, including the Computing Technology program, may also issue separate student accounts for access to course-specific resources.
