"After some career search and job hunt missteps, I decided to see a career coach at Camosun, a valuable and free service provided for current and past students of the college. Irene Wallace in Student and Alumni Employment Services was a great help. I see those meetings with Irene as a turning point in my search for a new and interesting career direction."
Nathan, alumnus working in the financial sector
Draw Winner Nicole Bazinet
Nicole Bazinet is our June Career Services ballot winner. She is going into her 3rd year of her Nursing program in September. Nicole took advantage of our services by booking a resume and cover letter coaching appointment with Irene Wallace, and an interview preparation session with one of our facilitators, Sarah-Joy Kallos. Nicole reflects, "Accessing your services was extremely helpful for me. The biggest aspect was the confidence it gave me in my job search. The facilitator I worked with helped me realise and focus on my strengths instead of dwelling on my deficits. I went in expecting to get some help finding a job and got so much more. I will bring the guidance I got at career services forward with me in my future career development". Nicole's dream career goal is to be a diabetic nurse educator.
Want to win too?
Every month, the Career Services office rewards one pro-active student for their participation in preparation for their career. Winners receive a $20 bookstore gift certificate and a Camosun mug to show their school pride.
