"After some career search and job hunt missteps, I decided to see a career coach at Camosun, a valuable and free service provided for current and past students of the college. Irene Wallace in Student and Alumni Employment Services was a great help. I see those meetings with Irene as a turning point in my search for a new and interesting career direction."

Draw Winner Chelsea Dekleer
Our October Career Services ballot winner is Chelsea Dekleer. Chelsea is in her 2nd year of the Practical Nursing Program and will graduate in the Spring of 2019. She participated in a Classroom Workshop on Resume & Cover Letter development delivered by our Employment Facilitator. Chelsea said, “The service Irene Wallace provided was very beneficial to my current and future education. I now understand that a professional resume and cover letter must follow a specific framework and information provided must be relevant to the job posting.” She is greatly appreciating her academic program here at Camosun College and shared these comments about her career plans, “The Practical Nursing Program has given me the opportunity to learn about different area's of care through clinical experience and classroom education. After many years of being an athletic and witnessing injuries and fractures, orthopedics is any area that I would love to work in. I would also like to work in pediatrics. I have worked with kids for a long time, and creating an environment that fosters both healing and fun can be a challenge, but it's very beneficial.”
