"After some career search and job hunt missteps, I decided to see a career coach at Camosun, a valuable and free service provided for current and past students of the college. Irene Wallace in Student and Alumni Employment Services was a great help. I see those meetings with Irene as a turning point in my search for a new and interesting career direction."
Nathan, alumnus working in the financial sector
Draw Winner Meaghan Beatty
Our Sept Career Services ballot winner is Meaghan Beatty. She is a first year student in Camosun’s Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing Program. Meaghan inquired about what Career Services our institution has to offer for students and she now knows where to access assistance with clarifying her career paths. Her first career goal is to complete her BSN, pass the NCLEX exam and become a Registered Nurse. Meaghan said, "I believe in the humanistic side of nursing and working with marginalized populations, so I’m naturally drawn to Mental Health or Street Nursing. However, I am only in my first year and as I gain experience throughout my clinical placements my interests will develop and I will consider a variety of different opportunities."
