The annual photo and video contest showcases co-op or internship students applying their education in the workplace. Photos, videos and the accompanying information will highlight student work experiences.
We are proud of the amazing work our students do all over the world and will display submitted photos and videos in various locations and formats – brochures, advertisments, posters, the website and even on our walls.
The Photo and Video Contest involves photos and videos from a co-op or internship work term, completed any time from September to August of the current academic year. Camosun students must have registered in a co-op or internship work term within this time period. Final awarding of prizes is contingent upon the winners successfully completing their work term with a passing grade.
IMPORTANT NOTE Submission of photographs and videos to the Co-op Photo and Video Contest gives Camosun College permission to publish, edit, exhibit, play, transfer, and otherwise use the photos and videos for marketing, administrative, and educational purposes.
A maximum of three digital photos may be submitted. The Co-operative Education and Career Services department will choose 1 photograph for the contest. The photos must show the student in a co-op or internship work environment. A signed photo release available from Camosun must be submitted with for any identifiable person in any photo. No photos of identifiable children are accepted. Each photo submission must include a brief description (50 words or less). Digital photos must be in focus with a file size of at least 1 MB and in JPEG format. A signed photo release available from Camosun must be submitted with for any identifiable person in the photo. No identifiable photos of any children are accepted.
Videos are to be a maximum of one minute and show the co-op or internship student in the work environment performing a variety of tasks. Students may explain what they are doing throughout the video and/or tell the story of their work term experiences. Videos must be uploaded to youtube.com to be eligible. Visit YouTube support for an explanation of how to do this. Videos must not include the Camosun logo.
