Co-op Employer Awards

For Camosun students and their employers, the co-op experience has added to their educational and professional success. Our co-op participants are often recognized with provincial and local awards for their time in the program.

Employer Awards

Co-op Employer of the Year Award

Each year, the Co-operative Education and Career Services department recognizes an outstanding employer in each of the program areas (Arts & Science, Trades & Technology, Business, Sport & Fitness).

The award is given based on an employer's involvement with co-operative education ranging from assisting in workplace education preparation seminars (WEP) to providing a co-op student with an enriching work experience.

Hale Hughesman Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors

Danella Parks, Interim Manager Co-op & Student Employment presents the 2015 Co-operative Education Business Employer of the Year award to Elaine Hughesman. Consistently nominated Co-op Employer of the Year, Hale Hughesman and Company has a long affiliation with Camosun’s Accounting Program. They are building upon student's strengths, providing them with new challenges and encouraging their career growth. They are valued for their team atmosphere, community-oriented approach to business and eco-friendliness.

Information Management/Information Technology, Island Health

Kathryn LeGros, Director Co-op & Student Employment presents the 2015 Co-operative Education Technology Employer of the Year award to William Kempthorne, IMIT, Island Health. Camosun College enjoys a strong relationship with Island Health. Bill is an active contributor to our Co-op students and program. He has volunteered multiple times to assist with networking events and perform mock interviews with co-op students in the Workplace Education Program. His knowledge and expertise has been very valuable to our students. Staff at Island Health are welcoming, willing to help and most importantly, value the opinions and contributions made by co-op students.
