Co-operative Education is a proven educational model where students alternate periods of full-time study with periods of productive employment in their career field. Co-op gives students the opportunity to apply their academic skills and knowledge, clarify their career direction, and develop confidence in their skills and abilities, while making a valuable contribution in the workplace. Students’ workplace learning is guided and supported by the employer and the institution with a goal to developing high caliber, well-trained graduates ready to assume productive careers in a dynamic and demanding workplace.

Co-operative Education programs at Camosun College have met the national criteria and standards for quality delivery of co-operative education programs as outlined by the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education.
