A student in the Community Support & Educational Assistant program, Gareth’s career goal is to work with developmental disability clients in daycare programs or schools.

When Dental Hygiene student, Leandra Yellowlees, heard through a classroom presentation about the services Student Employment offers, she didn't hesitate to set up an appointment. The resume and interview skills coaching she received will help set her on the path to her long term career goal of opening a dental office. As the monthly draw winner for March, Yellowlees receives a $20 card compliments of the Camosun Bookstore and a Student Employment mug.

Amy Carr

Women in Trades student, Amy Carr, attended a classroom workshop on resume and job search skills. Inspired by the workshop, Carr followed up with Irene Wallace, employment facilitator, for resume help and said, ‘I found your enthusiastic approach to resume writing inspiring. I loved how your key concepts were based around networking.’ Carr wins a $20 gift card compliments of Camosun Bookstore and a Student Employment mug.

Jennifer Chudak

Jennifer Chudak attended the Student Employment and Resumania presentations held concurrently with Accounting week. Jennifer is a student in the Professional Accounting Certificate program working towards her career goal of Certified Accountant. She entered the draw and was selected as the January winner for a $20 gift card compliments of the Camosun Bookstore and an SE mug.

Megan Clark

Arts & Science University Transfer student Megan Clark dropped into the Student Employment office to learn more about our services. Megan has now made an appointment to receive job search coaching and entered the monthly draw. Soliel Filan

Practical Nursing student, Soleil Filan wanted help with her resume. After meeting with a Student Employment Facilitator and receiving some coaching on her resume, she landed a job as a Care Aid Worker. Soleil's goal is to return to the Nursing program and work as a hospital nurse. She is the November Student Employment winner of a $20 gift card compliments of the Bookstore and a Student Employment mug.

Aja Mason

Aja holds a degree from the University of Lethbridge and is taking classes through the School of Arts & Science. Needing some resume and cover letter coaching, she met with a Student Employment Facilitator to help with her immediate job search. After conducting an informational interview with a local Physiotherapy practice, Aja has been invited for an interview next week! Jessica Landry, 3rd year BBA-Accounting student needed help with her resume so she met with Employment Facilitator Irene Wallace. Landry is the September Student Employment monthly draw winner of a $20 gift card compliments of Camosun Bookstore and a Student Employment mug. Jessica is also now a member of the Student Employment Advisory team and was a key volunteer at the Student Employment Festival Sept 28th, one life…many careers.

Building Employment & Success for Tomorrow (BEST) program student, Jonathan Savidant attended a presentation featuring the types of services offered through the Student Employment department. Now a graduate, Jonathan is currently looking for an IT position and will be pursuing cover letter and resume assistance from the Student Employment office. He is the June winner of a $20 gift card compliments of the Camosun Bookstore and a Student Employment Mug!

Congratulations to Civil Engineering Technology 2nd year student Eric James Watters who is the April winner of a Student Employment Mug and a $20 gift card compliments of Camosun Bookstore. Eric came into the SE office for resume assistance with job search. After meeting with an Employment Facilitator, Eric also gained ideas and tools for networking advantages for entering the workforce.
