Workplace Education Preparation Workshops – Employer Participation
As a Co-op supporter you are playing a pivotal role in students' learning experience. Co-op is a partnership that offers mutual benefits to both the student and the employer. Some of the benefits of participating in the Workplace Education Preparation seminar workshops include:- Give students valuable feedback on their industry knowledge, networking and interview skills.
- Showcase your expertise and expectations to up-and-coming professionals.
- Share your career path with students to inspire possibility in their own careers.
- Learn about the College's instructional material.
- Meet your future employees.
Informational Interview Activity - 1 hour workshop
We invite you to provide valuable industry and career information to our co-op students. This workshop provides students an opportunity to practice conducting information interviews as a group. During the workshop you will circulate through small groups, answering the students’ questions typical to information interviews – educational background, career path, day in the job, opportunities in the field, etc.
If you are interested in volunteering to share your career journey, please contact us at 250-370-4410 or co-op@camosun.ca.
Mock Interview Activity - 2 hour workshop
A key part of the Co-op WEP course is for students to practice for professional level job interviews with actual employers in industry. Students are provided with a mock job posting to practice the application process – prepare their resume, cover letter and for the interview. We welcome your involvement as a mock interviewer to provide realistic feedback to these students on their interview skills, resume and cover letter.
If you are interested in volunteering as a mock interviewer, please contact us at 250-370-4410 or co-op@camosun.ca.
