Winter Term students

Most of your course materials will be on our shelves by December 7, one month before the beginning of Winter Semester.  We encourage you to 'beat the rush'—come in to the bookstore early and avoid the lineups at the beginning of January! You have 21 days from the first day of term to return any course materials—usual restrictions apply. See our Return Policy for more details.

Quarter 2 students

Your courses start on January 4 and we hope to have most of your course materials available in the Bookstore by December 11.

Avoid long lineups

The first 3 days of term generally have the longest lineups at the Bookstore, particularly from mid-morning to late afternoon. Generally we have no significant lineups after the third day.

No one likes standing in line, so may we recommend the following:

Where the new textbook dollar goes

If you’d like to know where your new textbook dollar goes, here's a chart (pdf) which gives the national average. The picture on the bill is of George Washington, but the percentages apply to Canadian academic bookstores too.

Where does the profit go?

The Bookstore serves students, staff, faculty, and the public by stocking all the required textbooks and supplementary materials for courses offered through the College and a wide range of general book titles. The Bookstore also offers a variety of extras for the Camosun community.

Sponsorship funding

If your sponsorship funding includes textbooks, the Bookstore requires a completed and authorized Sponsorship Verification - Individual form (pdf 51kB) and/or Sponsorship Verification - Group listing form (pdf 80kB) which must be submitted directly to the Bookstore at least 2 weeks prior to the start of your classes.
