This award is for a student from the Criminal Justice Program, who has demonstrated outstanding community spirit. In January 2015, Sergeant Mike Lawless lost his life to cancer at the age of 43. Mike gave all his energy to the people around him and to the causes he believed in. In 2004 Mike was a rider with Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock and made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Mike continued to volunteer for Tour de Rock until the year before his death. This award recognizes the student who has demonstrated the same "Spirit of Giving Back" that Mike gave to this world.
