Fine Furniture - Joinery

School of Trades and Technology

Sandra completed the Fine Furniture Program at Camosun in 1997. After spending a few months employed in a local shop, she began working for herself as a furniture designer/maker. She moved on to co-own a successful bespoke furniture company for over fifteen years in the Cowichan Valley that specialized in residential work. The highly custom nature of the business saw her work on a range of creative projects in addition to furniture pieces. Her time spent designing and building one piece at a time in collaboration with clients and other design professionals has given her experience and knowledge she enjoys sharing with students every day. A firm believer in lifelong learning, Sandra continues to explore the craft of furniture making, currently focusing on green woodworking and improving her CAD (computer aided design) skills.

Sandra is a Red Seal Cabinetmaker/Joiner and has earned a BC Provincial Instructor’s Diploma since she began teaching for Camosun in 2006.
