Len is a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) who apprenticed as an automotive technician and was a certified fixed-wing Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) before graduating from Camosun College's Mechanical Technology program. He then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria's first Mechanical Engineering program in 1992.
He has extensive engineering experience with both local and international companies and has applied his skills to a wide, diverse array of projects, including fuel cell test equipment, lithium ion battery production, waste water treatment, nuclear robotic inspection, astronomy (Adaptive Optics), & waterpark development.
In addition to his experience as a design engineer and project manager, Len alpha & beta tested several software packages that are now widely used to support engineering processes around the world and also managed his own engineering consulting companies. He has a particular interest in engineering business processes, documentation, manufacturing and quality control.
Len teaches Introductory Manufacturing & Computer Aided Design courses and also supervises second-year Capstone projects. In his spare time, he reads widely and enjoys spending time with his family and applying his mechanical abilities to vehicle restoration projects.
