I reside on lək̓ʷəŋən people’s territory and have been a visitor for over 20 years after moving from rural Manitoba. I graduated from The University of Victoria in 2012 with a BSN and began my career working in medical and then mental health acute care. Over time, I branched out to a variety of other areas, including community crisis response, assertive community treatment, community medical detox, psychiatric intensive care, and most recently, psychiatric emergency services. Aside from mental health, I also have expertise in violence prevention and code white advance team response, which I bring to my role across the three years as an educator at Camosun College.
I have trained in martial arts since age eight and from there have pursued lifelong learning in self-protection and survival techniques. Some of my other hobbies include running, golfing, lifting, and gaming. Lastly, but most importantly, I am a father to two beautiful boys with my partner Maddy. I have been steadily working on getting myself and my family more connected with our Métis identity and to show more gratitude for the land, sky, and water.
