Kendal Adam joined Camosun College in 2022 to teach for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. A recent immigrant from the United States, she is grateful to have found a new home in Canada. Originally from Florida, Kendal obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University before pursuing her associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Cambridge College. She graduated and became a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS in 2015.

With nearly a decade of experience in Echocardiography, Kendal brings a wealth of diverse expertise acquired from various in-patient hospital settings, outpatient cardiology offices, and traveling sonography assignments. Her proficiency spans imaging in interventional and surgical cardiac procedures, standard echocardiography, stress echocardiography, as well as pediatric and neonatal echocardiography. Having worked and trained internationally, Kendal offers a unique perspective to the program, enriching the learning experience for her students.

At Camosun College, Kendal has played a pivotal role in redeveloping the cardiac side of the program and serves as an instructor for cardiac ultrasound courses and labs. Additionally, she acts as a clinical liaison for students in Campus Ultrasound, as well as providing guidance and support during their final Practicum out at various sites within Island Health. Kendal also contributes her knowledge to other Allied Health courses, including Patient Management and Professional Preparation.

Kendal's teaching philosophy revolves around treating each student as an individual and catering to their unique learning needs through hands-on application. She is dedicated to facilitating student comprehension through active engagement and practical experience. Her goal is to find a way to make the learning material resonate with each student she works with.

Driven by her passion for education and commitment to excellence, Kendal strives to inspire and empower the next generation of cardiac sonographers, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed for success in their future careers.
