Early Learning and Care

School of Health and Human Services

Courtney has worked within the field of early childhood education for thirteen years in various roles: early childhood educator, pedagogist, and now post-secondary instructor. She situates her work within an anti-colonial framework and pays particular attention to the co-creation of curriculum and inquiry, as well as pedagogies concerning ecological rituals and rhythms, Land, storying, and other-than-human assemblages.

Beyond her role as instructor, Courtney sits on multiple college wide committees, Camosun’s Education Council, and is enthusiastically involved with initiatives and projects specific to the ELC program.

Courtney holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education from Capilano University as well as a Master of Arts Education in the field of Curriculum Studies from the University of Western Ontario.
