Ocean Lu

Ocean Lu became a part of the department of Economics, Finance and UT at Camosun College in 2010, and she holds a Master’s degree in Economics with a focus on Econometrics. Prior to joining Camosun teaching team, Ocean was working as an Economics Analyst, Population Analyst and Senior Statistical Officer at BC STATS with the Government of British Columbia. The extensive research background that Ocean received from working for BC government allows her to provide many real-life examples and projects to the students in economics and statistics.

Born and raised in China, Ocean Lu arrived in Canada in 1999, and began her studies at college level. Ocean Lu is very passionate about international education, and seeks every opportunity to reach out to students who experience cultural, language and social difficulties. In her spare time, Ocean also thrives in another profession as a certified Chinese dance instructor teaching Beijing Dance Academy Chinese Dance Graded Examination Syllabus, and she is running a successful dance academy and very actively involved in the local Chinese communities.
