School of Arts and Science

Silvija completed her BSc in Honours Chemistry with minors in Mathematics and Physics from Wilfrid Laurier University. She continued at Wilfrid Laurier University to complete a MSc in Computational Chemistry. Her research focused on hydrogen atom transfer of small thiols and alcohol molecules adsorbed on gold nanoclusters. Silvija’s passion for teaching began while a graduate student, having taught laboratory classes and tutorials, and developing laboratory manuals for undergraduate experiments.

Upon graduation, Silvija moved to Victoria and began teaching courses as a sessional instructor at Camosun College in 2016. In 2019, Silvija joined the Chemistry and Geoscience department as a Continuing Faculty member.
