Isabelle Gingras has a Master's degree in French Literature. Her thesis, "La migration du soi vers l'autre" (i.e. The Migration of the Self to the Other), was a psycholinguistic and phenomenological analysis of three contemporary novels in which the main character experiences identity conflicts while immigrating from China to Canada.

Since 2001, she has taught French as an additional language to College and University students at McGill and Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. She also taught immigrants as part of a social integration program offered by the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). During this time, Isabelle collaborated on educational projects for FSL programs targeting the social integration of immigrants. These experiences helped her develop an expertise in meeting the needs of various cultural groups in the context of learning French as a second or additional language.

Isabelle has also taught students at the University of Victoria, professionals at the Canada School of Public Service, and adults of all ages at the Alliance française.

In summary, she is a French-as-Additional-Language teacher, literally from "Coast to Coast", with a passion for exploring multiculturalism through music and drama. She never misses a cultural festival in Victoria, as she loves making contact with people. For her, "everybody can look at one thing but not everyone will see the same thing."
