Elizabeth is a veteran teacher of physics. She started  teaching physics, for university transfer students and access students, immediately upon completing her master’s degree some years ago.

This was initially intended to be a brief interlude before beginning a Phd but teaching was found to be so rewarding that she accepted an ongoing teaching job and has spent her time explaining the laws of physics to beginning students ever since. Most of this teaching has been at Camosun but one year was spent on a teaching exchange at Grenfell College of Memorial university in Newfoundland. What Elizabeth especially loves about her job is that the students studying physics at Camosun almost all know that they must work hard to get where they want to go.  Some are naturally good at physics, others struggle with the math but all take their studies seriously and it is, therefore, hugely rewarding to see them pass through and head on their way towards their future with their (usually required) physics completed successfully. It was especially rewarding when her own son decided to begin his postsecondary studies right here at Camosun.

In her spare time she has built a very tiny cottage in the gulf islands, enjoys having a cup of strong coffee while reading a good  mystery novel or  general interest science books, while resting in her large vegetable garden.
