Prior to joining the English department at Camosun College, I was a freelance writer and an editor for the independent media website rabble.ca. While studying and teaching at the University of British Columbia, I also worked as a researcher and education facilitator for Humanities 101, a non-credit, university-level program for economically compromised learners living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside neighbourhood. This experience taught me that every one of us, whoever we are, brings knowledge to the classroom.
I’m interested in modernism and modernity, Indigenous literatures and oratures, and Indigenizing the academy. My writing can be found in the National Post, The Walrus, CBC Radio and elsewhere. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with Camosun’s incredible students, staff and faculty on the traditional territories of the Lkwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples.
