Chris completed an undergraduate degree in Physics and Astronomy with a minor in Mathematics at the University of Victoria. He completed his Master’s and Doctoral degrees with the School of Earth and Sciences also at the University of Victoria. His research was completed with the UVic Climate Modelling Lab and focused on simulating the distribution and characteristics of permafrost in the UVic Climate Model and on the role of climate in influencing human migrations.

Chris found his passion for teaching as a graduate student at UVic, teaching undergraduate Physics and Earth Sciences labs and has been teaching at Camosun since 2011. Chris has always had a very broad interest in science and particularly enjoys teaching undergraduate Physics courses at Camosun as they explore a wide variety of topics. He loves teaching at Camosun because of the one-on-one interactions with students afforded by the smaller class sizes as well as the wide range in background and interests of the College's students.
