Allyson Butt

I value variety in my workday, and appreciate the diversity of students who bring their full selves to the Education & Career Planning Program (EDCP). I thrive on supporting our students and the instructors daily, bringing clarity to our student documentation, and de-mystifying technology.

I came to Camosun College after a successful career as a technical writer at BCIT and hi-tech start-ups; most recently, I switched gears to found and run a professional organizing business before I moved to Victoria.

These two very different and challenging careers expanded my skillset and I'm grateful every day for the capabilities that I have learned from my varied work experiences.

When not working, I volunteered as a tutor, teaching adults basic computer skills. I adapting my approach with each individual, putting them at ease with humour, acceptance, and clear communication.
