As an avid athlete as a youth and teen, sport has always been an incremental part of my life. This love of sport and the impacts it had on my life led to university where I completed a degree in Sport Management. Since then, I have spent the last 15 years working on a variety of unique projects in different planning and operational roles. Some of the projects I have worked on include working with the Aboriginal Sport and Recreation Association (ASRA), working in sport for development areas with Grassroot Soccer in South Africa, being part of the operations team for Whistler Creekside during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics & Paralympics, working with Cycling BC, working on the FIFA World Cup 2010 in SA, working at the London 2012 Olympics & Paralympics and co-owning my own Sport Management business which involved leading projects such as the GranFondo Canada cycling events in Banff, Vancouver and Niagara Falls.
After these, I chose to focus my energy back on Sport Activism and working with the Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island where I completed my Master’s Degree in Kinesiology at UVIC focusing on sport success with the Citxw Nlaka'pamux Assembly.
Focusing on my continuing love for sport, I have found my way into teaching at Camosun in the CSEE department where I get to continue using sport for change by both sharing my learnings and equally learning from the students.
