School of Health and Human Services

In my 40-year career in Perinatal and Women’s Health nursing, I have worked in Canada, the US, and the Middle East as a nurse, nurse educator, and private consultant. I graduated from a hospital-based diploma nursing program in 1978, completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005, and my Master of Nursing in 2015.

I am passionate about advocating for women and women’s health issues and believe health practice, policy, and research must work in partnership with communities to improve supportive, respectful, and effective health services for women, children, and families. I believe that social justice, equity, anti-racism, and advocacy underpin excellence in nursing care and practice, and I strive to continue to learn and work toward these endeavors as a nurse, educator, and citizen.

I am a faculty member at Camosun College with the Camosun College-University of Victoria collaborative BSN Program, a Board Member with the Centre of Excellence in Women’s Health, and a very bad golfer and fair to middling paddle boarder.
