BSc Cell Biology and Genetics, PhD Medical Genetics
School of Arts and Science
My name is Jane Gair and I started teaching at Camosun College in January 2013. I have a BSc in Cell Biology and Genetics and a PhD in Medical Genetics; both from UBC. I have been teaching at the post-secondary level since 2005, mainly at UVic in the Island Medical Program, a distributed site of UBC's medical school. I have taught everything from Host Defenses and Infectious Disease, the Cardiovascular System, to the Endocrine System in the context of health sciences. I believe in active learning and love to get students involved in their own educational experience.
My colleague, Charles Molnar, and I have co-authored an open-source textbook for all non-major biology students. Download this free textbook, Concepts of Biology-1st Canadian Edition.
