Global Student Entrepreneur Awards
Student Entrepreneurs who have started a business they can apply here by the deadline of October 14th, 2018. First round of competition November 15th 2018 in Vancouver.
GSEA is not your typical business pitch competition. We do not look to compete with other business competitions around town but to broaden and enhance the student’s entrepreneurial experience. This competition is not about who has the largest and most successful business, but which student has the drive, stamina and passion to succeed as an entrepreneur.
How else are we different? We also strive to give the student access to other successful entrepreneurs in the area of their target market to develop and hone their skills both professionally as well as personally. Many students have found mentors as well as investment backers from their association with EO and GSEA.
Our qualifications are simple and there is a low barrier to entry. But simply put, we are looking for students (undergraduate/graduate) who have been operating a business for a minimum of 6 months, have secured either $500 in revenue(sales) or $1,000 in venture backing and are principally responsible for the operation of their business. The complete list of qualifications can be found here.
The winner will automatically advance to our Canada National competition taking place in Victoria on January 16 to compete alongside 10 other students from across Canada. The winner of our National competition will advance to Global Finals to compete against 56 other countries in the world in Toronto, Canada. Feel free to check out this interview in Inc.com and this video/overview of our last Global Finals in Frankfurt, Germany in 2017. Prize packages for the National competition sit at $10,000 and for Global Finals, $25,000.
