Come join in an interactive, engaging and informative conversation where over 50 minutes we will explore the wild and wonderful world of volunteer service in community. If you have ever asked yourself questions such as: Will volunteering help me to find paid work? What is service learning? What are the benefits of volunteering? What is strategic volunteering? Where can I find a meaningful volunteer opportunity in Victoria? then please do join us on March 21st beginning at 11:30am as these questions and more will be explored. Speaker: George Colussi, Volunteer Services Associate & Youth Programmer, Volunteer Victoria
After many years working for a diverse range of organizations in the not-for-profit sector, George joined the Volunteer Victoria team in January 2014 in membership services. He now works on the volunteer services team delivering presentations to organizations & individuals of all ages and supporting the activities and learning journey of the youth involved with the “Youth Advisory Committee” at Volunteer Victoria. As George puts it, “My work at Volunteer Victoria is a powerful privilege since it allows me to link daily with individuals and organizations that are undertaking transformational work in community”.

Volunteer Victoria is excited to again partner with Camosun Cooperative Education & Career Services for this 4 hour interactive and informative event. 16 local not-for-profit charitable organizations will be in the Cafeteria Annex from 10am to 2pm on March 27th and they will be eager to share will all information about their meaningful community based programs & services and the various diverse & enjoyable volunteer opportunities that they have to offer students and the general public alike.
If you are interested in engaging as a volunteer in a meaningful way that will make a difference in your life and others, if you would like to find out more about the not-for-profit sector in Victoria, and if you want to meet like minded people interested in community & service learning, then please join us at this free event. It’s great opportunity to network and develop connections in community. All of this has strong support for assisting with your career path and decision-making.
