Congratulations to Matt Agbay!
What do Biology and Economics have in common at Camosun? Really Great Instructors!
Congratulations to two Camosun faculty members on their recent awards from The Zone @ 91-3. Each month The Zone recognizes an outstanding teacher based on nominations received from students in our communities and we are pleased to be celebrating both Thuy Nevado (School of Arts & Science) and Matt Agbay (School of Business) for their Teacher of the Month awards in November 2017 and February 2018. Thuy Nevado has been teaching biology for Camosun since 1999 and was touched by her nomination from Christopher, one of her students. “Having engaged students like Chris and his classmates makes teaching such a pleasure,” says Thuy.
Matt Agbay teaches economics and statistics in the School of Business and will receive his award from The Zone on February 21, 10:30am in CBA 211. In receiving this award Matt says, “Thank you to my colleagues for the support and for inspiring me to get better at what I do every single day.” Connor nominated Matt for a Teacher of the Month award saying he is the best teacher that he’s ever had. “I had a hard time in high school, failing the last class I took there. My first class at Camosun, however, was with Matt, and he ignited my interest in economics. I finished this course with an A+ because of Matt’s clear and well-structured teaching style.”
Congratulations to Thuy and Matt in supporting students on their paths to success and in helping to create a great student experience at Camosun.
