On June 12, Camosun's Athletic & Exercise Therapy Clinic (AET) hosted Dr. Cameron McCrodan, a North American specialist in neurovisual performance, who talked about vision and how it can impact concussion recovery.

It was an opportunity for practitioners to improve their concussion treatment skills and for students to build on skills learned in the classroom. Dr. McCrodan, who has supported patients in Victoria and across North America, discussed the implications of vision dysfunction after head injury, how to test and screen for these problems, various approaches to helping and treating these visual conditions, and what makes vision rehabilitation effective or not effective. More than 60 people attended the seminar, from faculty, staff and students at Camosun College, to practitioners in the community and people who were generally interested in the topic.

The therapists in the AET Clinic plan to use what they have learned from the seminar to improve the assessment and treatment of clients with vestibular conditions or concussions. Up to 90% of non-resolving concussion or head injury cases have neurological vision conditions related to how the eyes and the brain work together.

Along with concussions, the AET Clinic treats a variety of patients and conditions regardless of activity level or age.
