Camosun College welcomes three new members to the Board of Governors

Camosun College is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to the Board of Governors. Brenda Lee McBain, Madhuri (Margie) Parikh, and Emily Sarah Rogers have been appointed as members for terms from July 31, 2018 to July 31, 2019.
Brenda McBain is with CitySpaces Consulting, a land-use planning firm. She was formerly a Family and Youth Counsellor with the Blanshard Community Advisory Committee. Ms. McBain has been an active member in her community volunteering with numerous organizations including Together Against Poverty Society (Past President), Health professions Council (member), and Island Swimming (Vice-President). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta and is a Certified Public Participation Practitioner (International Association for Public Participation).
Margie Parikh is the Principal Consultant of On Governance. She has a long history with board governance previously working with the BC Oil and Gas Commission, Canadian Internet Registration Authority, CISV, Parachute, and MEC, among others. Ms Parikh holds a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University, in addition to Chartered Director designation (The Director’s College) and Certified Financial Planning designation.
Emily Rogers is the Tenant Legal Advocate for Together Against Poverty Society. She was elected as a student member of the University of Victoria Board of Governors, served as a Student Senator representing the Faculty of Human and Social Development and was the Chairperson of the University of Victoria Students’ Society. Ms Rogers holds a Bachelor in Child and Youth Care from University of Victoria.
