Camosun participates in provincial “ShakeOut” earthquake drill, Oct. 19 at 10:20am

Victoria is located in a very seismically active area. At any time we could experience a medium to large earthquake. Preparing our college community will help reduce injury and death in the event of a large earthquake.
Every year, on the third Thursday of October, Camosun participates in the provincially coordinated ShakeOut earthquake exercise . Students, staff and faculty at both campuses will be alerted to Drop, Cover and Hold-On, evacuate buildings and go to a designated Emergency Assembly Point.
Get ready to DROP, COVER and HOLD ON – Thursday, October 19 at 10:20am
Camosun employees and students
At the sound of the air horn, at 10:20am, please:
- Drop, Cover and Hold On
- Remain in your safe position for approx. one minute
- Evacuate your building to the assigned Emergency Assembly Point (EAP) – helpers will guide you there
- After approximately 10–15 minutes, you will be able to return to your building.
