Vice President, Partnerships

Geoff Wilmshurst, former Director of Camosun International (CI) moves into the portfolio of Vice President, Partnerships. Wilmshurst takes over as former Vice President Dr. Tom Roemer accepts a VP position at BCIT.

Over the past few years, Wilmshurst has undertaken a major reorganization of Camosun’s International Education department, significantly improving its operational results. Prior to Camosun, Geoff had 20 years of experience in Canadian public and private post-secondary institutions, both in Canada and abroad. He also has had extensive experience in not-for-profit management that included developing organizations from the ground up as well as rebuilding already established initiatives. Geoff is now serving in his new position and assumes responsibility for: Camosun International, Continuing Education, Contract Training, External Coordination, Camosun Foundation and Marketing.

Vice President, Administration

Shane Busby has accepted the position of Vice President, Administration, and will be joining Camosun in February. Busby takes over after the retirement of former VP Administration Peter Lockie.

Busby most recently served as Provincial Executive Director, Alberta Health Services (Calgary) with broad senior administrative responsibilities, including a major focus on facilities planning and development. A former BC resident, he has previously worked for Vancouver Coastal Health, and for the Ministry of Health in Victoria. His extensive experience in infrastructure and space planning will help the college complete the transition to the new trades building at Interurban campus. Busby holds an MBA from Royal Roads University and a BSc from the University of Victoria. The VP Administration will oversee: Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Facilities and Campus Community Services.

“I am extremely pleased to welcome Geoff and Shane to the college executive team,” says Camosun President Sherri Bell. “Geoff is an expert in developing new partnerships for our college and Shane brings extensive senior administrative experience in public service related organizations.”
