Camosun DECA competitors posted a chapter best performance at the 2016 Pacific Northwest Career Development Conference held last week in Spokane, WA. Nine Camosun competitors placed in the medals, and sixteen placed in the top five. The 18-member Camosun DECA team will now advance to compete at the International Career Development Conference in Washington DC at the end of April.

The 2016 Pacific Northwest conference was hosted by Gonzaga University and welcomed 176 competitors from seven regional post-secondary institutions. 23 events showcased the business talents and acumen of individuals and teams competing in a range of subject areas.

Congratulations to the following Camosun DECA finalists!

Accounting Business Case Simulation, individuals

  • Michael Pal—first place
  • Robin Stone—tied for second place
  • Mike Hallett—tied for second place

Business Ethics, teams

  • Kyle Reid and Robin White—second place
  • Emara Angus and Sara Kubica—third place

International Marketing, teams

  • Davinder Singh and Nick Wesley—second place
