Release Date: April 19, 2016
Camosun’s influential Visual Arts program graduating show, “593”, showcases the diverse work of emerging artists. The opening, April 22, 7-10:30pm at 818 Broughton Street, is free and open to everyone. The exhibit continues through to April 29, noon-5pm weekdays and 10am-3pm weekends.
Named for the number of days in the two-year program, the exhibit features a range of art created by 29 graduating students—including painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, installation, animation, and ceramic works—showing the breadth and depth of the work produced in the program.
"Every year, we are inspired by the professionalism of the student grad shows," says Joseph Hoh, Camosun`s Visual Arts Department Chair. “This opening is a celebration of all their achievements in this two-year intensive program. This is their night to shine.”
