Release Date: July 23, 2015

The Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, today announced Camosun College will receive $1.56 million to create a testing Interaction Lab to support the local manufacturing sector.

The new facility will provide students with hands-on experience and provide industry with access to state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies.

The project will also contribute to the development of a Career Hub, which will help promote student recruitment and support interaction with local employers.

The facility will become part of Camosun's Trades Education and Innovation Complex currently under construction at Interurban Campus. The announcement took place in Camosun's Sheet Metal Shop, which will be reconfigured as the Interaction Lab thanks to this new WD funding and the TRADEmark campaign.
