Camosun College Board of Governors is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Board Chair, Mr. Kyman Chan, and two new Board Members, Mr. Thomas Siemens and Mr. Russell Lazaruk.
Kyman Chan, a member of the College’s board since 2007, was elected Chair at the inaugural meeting, September 12, 2011. He succeeds Ms Lynda Farmer, who served as Chair since Fall 2009. “Camosun will be well served through the leadership of Mr. Chan,” says past Chair Farmer. “He has a long association with Camosun both as a former student and more recently as a board member. That, along with his strong connections to the college’s educational programs, gives him invaluable insight into the vital role Camosun plays in job and skills training in our community and beyond.”

His other current community activities include Advisory Council, BC Cancer Foundation (Vancouver Island); Finance Committee, St. Michaels University School; Director, Victoria CA Association; Volunteer Coach, Gordon Head Minor Baseball Association; and, Volunteer Coach and Manager, Victoria Racquet Club Minor Hockey Association. The Camosun College Board of Governors is also pleased to welcome two new Board members, Mr. Thomas Siemens and Mr. Russell Lazaruk. “The appointments of Mr. Siemens and Mr. Lazaruk will expand the capacity of an already outstanding group of dedicated individuals who serve Camosun as members of its Board of Governors. I am confident that both Tom and Russ will have key roles to play as the college continues to evolve its pivotal educational role in our community,” says Farmer.
Tom Siemens currently serves as Vice-President, Commercial Services, with RBC Royal Bank. Since 1982, his career with RBC has encompassed roles across a broad range of disciplines and customer bases, in a wide variety of locales, including Winnipeg, Calgary, Toronto, Saskatoon and Victoria.
